Jimmy and His Eating Problem.

December 2, 2017

Hi! We just moved to our own house and it was very mood-lifting! I can smell the fresh paints, fresh tiles, fresh woods all over the house. It is a delicacy to your senses, especially if it is somewhere you start to call ‘home’. On our first days, we got that ‘new house, new furnitures hooray!’ euphoria. We went shopping and bought things we never thought we would need in this late 2017.

However, on Monday not long after our moving day, both of us got a fever. Jimmy got a high temperature. He skipped work, and I decided to got home earlier. On my way home, his phone was dead and I got worried as hell. I shopped in the nearest giant grocery for his dinner, as he requested soupy and broth-y kind of meal. My head was also throbbing in pain and I felt chilly. Somehow, I was feeling nauseous too because the cab I took drove rather Toretto-ish. Geez, if only I could bring myself to ask him for a seat-switch.

As I got home, he was in the living room and he saw me through the back door. I could see his eyes glimmered in joy as he hugged me in and I placed my palm on his neck. His fever was really bad. Physically, I could see his messy bed hair (which is kind of unusual because he usually makes his hair spiky or in ‘jambul’ way), his limp walk, and watery red eyes because of his temperature and he just got out of bed. I took him back to bed, and let him rest. Then I prepared his meal, boiled him a pot of water for his tea, and cleaned Coco’s potty (Coco Sierra, our beloved male Pug which was born in the early October 2017). I could feel my vertigo is taking me, and also I felt vomitous and almost immobile. I cried a bit because the pain I felt was quite cruiciating. But I remembered Jimmy needed to eat well, so I slipped back the thought of giving up and keep cooking instead.

He ate a little, and then drank his medicine. I gave him aspirins for his fever too. We turned off the air conditioner and I daubed Leung Kai Fook Axe Brand oil to his stomach and back, hoped it would reduced his abdominal pain. I drank the aspirin myself for my fever, and tried to get rest too. An hour or so, we felt much better. Yay! We had dinner and we watched movies together then we got back to bed earlier than usual.

We took bed rest on Tuesday, and we went to Rumah Sakit Pondok Indah (RSPI) on Wednesday lunchtime. We already booked an appointment for dr. Okto Dewantoro, Sp.PD. After the assessment and observation, he assumed that Jimmy might got the ~legendary~ appendicitis because his lack of eating veggies and drinking proper amount of water. The doctor referred us to take ultrasonography (USG) or Computed Tomography Scan (CT Scan) on Saturday. We decided to take USG and made an appointment on Saturday morning at 9 AM sharp. Jimmy did not like the CT Scan process (he got it once when he had his routine medical check-up months ago), so we did not take this option.

On Friday, we still managed to watch “From Batak with Love by Voice of Indonesia - Rio Silaen” concert at Teater Kecil, Taman Ismail Marzuki. We got in the second show in VIP seats. The show was great and mesmerizing. Jimmy—which had felt much better—decided to sing and his voice was......quite worrying. (If you read this, I’m so sorry babe :p). We enjoyed it so much and we got home in midnight.

The next day, we got to the hospital at 10 AM (we got problem of excessively cuddling—which mostly caused our delays) and he got into the lab at 11 AM. He was monstrously starving because he got to fast before he took his USG action, so when I got myself a smoked beef salad for my lunch, he got himself a nice box of Nasi Padang Sederhana. Well..

The nurses called us in to dr. Okto at 12.45 PM. Long story short, we decided to take laparoscopic appendectomy on January 2018 so it will not meddle with our Christmas and New Year days. The surgery will not be big, and hopefully he will get back to his normal activity in ~a week or two. Get well soon, baby!
